Coursework: Preliminary Exercise 2025 - Music Videos

 1) Write a 100 word statement of intent explaining what you are going to make for your preliminary exercise.

I plan to make a 30 seconds music video about how people can make a step to change for thje better within society.It will use the song N95 by Kendrick Lamar because of how the lyrics tell people to be themselves.It will involve multiple different shots symbolizing that the true and best form of a person is the version without all of these materialistic things and questions what are you and what do you have without these things.I feel the song is a perfect fit for the topic of societal improvement.



2) Write a script for your preliminary exercise on your blog. This needs to include stage directions AND dialogue. To see how a TV drama script is presented, and to look at professional examples, check out the BBC Writers' Room and click on Script Library. These will not be music video scripts but the layout will be the same.

4) Plan your locations: Where you will film your preliminary exercise? (You can film off-site if you wish to do this for homework - this is what we would strongly recommend). Important note: You CANNOT take any students out of any other lessons OR disturb any other lessons in the school. If you wish to film in-school then you will need to film with Mr Ray supervising or after school with a Media teacher present. School London

5) Write your shot list: every shot you plan to film. This needs to be far MORE shots than you will actually use in the final edited version - plan extra angles, close-ups, long shots and more. You can find an example shot list here. This is for a narrative film but the layout will be the same.

  Costume:The first person we see is wearing a white lab coat suggesting he is some form of doctor or scientist which suggest this show is possibly  going to have a science fiction vibe There are also 4 children all wearing typical children clothes changing the tone of the scene to a bit more fun, The childs parents  are wearing very basic clothes showing that they are just ordinary people Lighting: The lighting at the start is very dim and ominous which further pushes into the sci-fi vibe but also adding horror and a fearful atmosphere in the scene,it then cuts to a sprinkler with a dark background giving even more of a ominous and creepy atmosphere.When the children are in the basement of some sort,the lighting is still dim but in a comforting way.
